What was just announced?
The acquisition of vCom Solutions by AppDirect is now officially closed. The process that began with the announcement in November 2024 is now complete, and vCom is now a part of the AppDirect family.
I'm a vCom customer. What changes for me today?
For now, it is business as usual. Your vCom platform access, account team, billing processes, and support contacts remain exactly the same. The vCom leadership team, including Gary Storm and Sameer Hilal, remains in place to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of service.
Will I be forced to switch to a new platform? What is the timeline?
The long-term vision is to integrate vCom's capabilities into the new AppDirect Unified Lifecycle Management platform. This integration will happen in the coming months. The goal is to enhance your current experience with new capabilities. You will receive detailed communications and guidance well in advance of any required changes to your platform access.
Is this good for vCom and its customers?
Yes. We firmly believe that this acquisition will enable us to enhance and expand the services we offer you, as we look to combine the joint assets of the two companies. vCom's mission and vision remain unchanged, and the acquisition by AppDirect will amplify vCom's commitment to its customers, enabling even more technologies and solutions. As we come together, you can expect the same high level of service you’ve come to rely on from vCom, with new capabilities and an even stronger foundation behind us. Both organizations are committed to innovation and leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence to help businesses and their trusted advisors work smarter, empowered by the best tools needed to save time and create shareholder value.
Will this affect customer current pricing, contract, or the vCom Buyers' Club?
No. All existing customer contracts and commitments will be honored. There will be no changes to your pricing or contractual terms as a result of this acquisition. The vCom Buyers' Club will be integrated into the AppDirect ecosystem, strengthening its value with access to more providers and solutions.
With AppDirect being a much larger company, how will you maintain the quality of customer service I'm used to?
We are committed to maintaining the world-class service you expect from vCom. The vCom executive and leadership team is remaining with the combined organization. Your dedicated vCom account team remains your primary point of contact, ensuring you continue to receive personalized, expert support without getting lost in a larger system.
Is AppDirect committed to vCom's vision?
Yes. We have been working closely with AppDirect for the past four years. As we learned of all the synergies between our two organizations, the union seemed like the perfect combination of assets and people, to help achieve immense growth opportunities. The combined assets include: two best-in-class software platforms; a team of seasoned subject matter experts; a suite of robust managed services; a powerful Buyers’ Club; as well as access to hundreds of technologies and providers. vCom’s subject matter expertise and tools for managing Network, Mobile and Hardware, will be combined with AppDirect’s expertise in Cloud, SaaS and Collab, to provide the most comprehensive platform for managing any organization’s entire IT environment.
Will my vCom contacts or account team change?
No. There are no changes to your account team at this time. The "spun-out" direct sales team mentioned in the press release refers to a strategic change vCom made prior to the acquisition, to support vCom sales representatives who wanted to build their own businesses by helping them establish their vCom franchises. This does not affect the customer success, account management teams, and/or the technology solutions group you work with today.
What happens to my company's data?
Data security and privacy remain a top priority. For now, your data remains within the vCom platform under all existing security protocols and privacy policies. As the platforms are integrated in the future, you will be proactively informed of any changes to data governance or terms of service. You will benefit from AppDirect’s SOC2 and ISO certifications which will be expanded to include the vCom platforms.
Am I required to purchase the other services AppDirect offers?
No. The vision of an "everything store" is to provide you with the value of finding, buying, and managing more of your recurring IT services (like AI, SaaS, Cloud, Hardware and Energy) in one place. The primary benefit is having a single, unified platform available to address your technology needs.
When will billing and invoicing change?
You will continue to be billed by vCom as usual for the time being. We will provide at least one full billing cycle's notice before any changes are made to invoicing entities or payment systems to ensure your accounts payable team has ample time to adjust.
Who should I contact if I have more questions?
Customers should continue to work directly with their dedicated vCom account team. They are fully briefed on the acquisition and are the best resource for any questions specific to accounts.
What does this mean for partners?
Partners remain a significant part of vCom's business. This union will provide partners access to AppDirect’s powerful platform for monetization or procurement. They will gain access to the comprehensive portfolio of all things IT: Network, Mobile, Hardware, SaaS, Cloud, Energy and AI. Partners will also gain from AppDirect’s extensive support structure across the channel, and myriad of tools available for both advisors and industry partners.
I am a vCom Partner. What changes for me today?
For now, it is business as usual. Your vCom Partner Portal Access, Partner Success Team and Business Development Team remain exactly the same. We remain focused on providing you and our mutual customers with exceptional service and support.
As a Partner, will anything change with my commissions?

I am a Partner that is working with vCom on a new opportunity. What changes for me today?
The sales individual that is assisting you today remains the same. Our team is ready and able to support you and your customer, and we are excited to learn how we can help!
Do I need to make my active vCom customers aware of the acquisition?
No, vCom will be notifying all customers so you do not need to send a separate notification.
