Engagement Manager
JOB TITLE: Engagement Manager
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Client Relations
DEPARTMENT: Engagement Management
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engagement Manager will actively manage large, multi-site customers and will be responsible for overseeing the conversion of customer spend to vCom.
GENERAL PURPOSE: The Engagement Manager will have responsibility for leading the consulting and implementation services engagements and relationships with our clients during the conversion of spend engagement period.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Actively develop and execute project plans for product and solution deployment, in addition to coordinating cross-disciplinary teams within vCom.
- Develop an understanding of the customer’s business goals and objectives while providing guidance and leadership to the account and implementation teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the hand-off from Sales, through the launch and implementation of services
- Manage the customer relationship during the conversion of spend process
- Drive quotes not yet converted to orders and/or orders not yet ready to be promoted to Operations
- Ensure both continued revenue growth and successful customer engagements during the customer lifecycle
- Work with Sales, Project Management, and Solution Architecture to identify product and process improvements that have global relevance and work to drive those improvements
- Consult with customers to define their business requirements
- Work with lead Solution Technical Architect to create vision and solution offerings for the customer
- Work with Account Team on overall delivery quality, timelines and customer satisfaction
- Conduct regular project reviews
- Work with Sales Representative to lead contract review and negotiation process, including pricing and scope estimates for implementation
- Ensure project commitments made on behalf of vCom Solutions are addressed
- Work with the Sales and Client Relationship Management teams to identify new business opportunities within existing customer base
- Assist Sales Team during opportunity assessment and proposal phases, particularly as it relates to project approach, timeline and deliverables
- Serve as a point of escalation for issue resolution
- Help facilitate customer demos and participate in customer meetings and sales presentations
- Participate in business development activities, providing product and process expertise
- Ensure the successful transition of clients from close-of-sale to full scale implementation of client services
- Work with Sales and Operations to ensure that client needs are met based on set expectations; work closely with the team to identify methods for strengthening client communication
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5-7 years of experience in Client Relations
- 2-4 years of telecommunication technologies including Local, Long Distance, Data, Internet and data services
- Demonstrated experience with various carriers including facilities-based and non-facilities-based CLECs and ILECs/RBOCs and other large/national service providers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong PC skills including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and general knowledge of database software applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong team and client focus, including ability to collaborate with clients
- Superior time management and multi-tasking skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Resourceful, organized and independent
- Goal oriented
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to interact among all levels of the organization
- Ability to cultivate and sustain client relationships
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects concurrently
- Self-motivated, with high learning aptitude, and initiative
- Ability to cope with stressful situations and maintain a calm and professional demeanor
- BA/BS degree required
