vManager 2.4: Data Level Security

July, 2010 – vManager 2.4: Data Level Security
San Ramon CA - vCom Solutions, the pioneer of Telecom Management as a Service (TMaaS™) for the growing Enterprise, announced the release of vManager 2.4, an update to its powerful Telecom Management software.
In version 2.4, vCom introduced Data Level Security, putting the power to add users and define access rules, by account and/or module, at administrators’ fingertips. “With this new enhancement, a company can provide users access only to the information that they need,” explained Adam Shawley, vCom’s VP of Technology. “
A customer who has multiple regional managers across the country, has the ability to provide them restricted access only to the pertinent accounts for which they are responsible. Similarly, an IT user can be limited to access telecom inventory and its associated orders and cases; while an accounting user’s profile can be set to access the invoice module and G/L reports only.” This granular control not only improves the user experience; but also follows the same guidelines that Enterprises set internally for data access.
Also introduced in version 2.4 is the ability to define password rules. Administrators can define user password requirements, based on their organizational needs and policies, including minimum password length and character enforcement. Building on a secure foundation that protects customer information, the new enhancement empowers Administrators to apply the same password policies that they use across their entire Enterprise.
“Version 2.4 marked a major under-the-hood security upgrade to vManager,” said Shawley. “In order to enable the enhanced layers of user security and control, most pages, dashboards and reports had to be reviewed. The new architecture will allow our Enterprise customers the utmost flexibility and control over user access to the information that they need.”
Adding to a growing list of dashboards and drillable reports, vManager 2.4 also featured new carrier management reports, for easily accessing Inventory or Trouble Tickets by Carrier.
