DETROIT, Mich. (Aug. 19, 2011) — vCom Solutions, the pioneer of Telecom Management as a Service (TMaaS), has announced an expansion into the Midwest with the opening of new office in the Detroit metro area.

The announcement by vCom Solutions, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, comes on the heels of follows the recent opening of new offices in Los Angeles and Portland, Ore.

“For mid-size companies, we are a very unique option,” said Gary Storm, CEO and founder of vCom. “As we start to aggressively expand sales outside our northern California base, we are finding that our model is really resonating with customers. The challenge is first getting them to understand that an option such as ours even exists.”

The typical approach by Telecom Expense Management firms is to charge expensive software licences and professional services fees to companies to manage their telecom.

But vCom offers the mid-size company a solution they can afford. It provides the software and professional services for free. No charge. Instead, vCom distributes the carriers’ services — such as Verizon or Sprint — to its customers and uses its wholesale buying power to pass along savings.

For the newly-opened Detroit-area office, Geoff Kotila, a former executive in the risk management and expense reduction business, will serve as business development manager. He will focus on Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin and consider a broad range of industries, with a particular emphasis on Professional Services such as accounting, legal and banking, as well as the private equity industry which is looking for new ways to drive revenue and bring efficiencies.
